Dedicated, passionate & skilled.

We are an older congregation situated in a retirement “haven” on the mighty Murray river, which is highly attractive to retirees from Melbourne. Ministry to aged care homes is another priority for us, particularly as our members move there.

Our Vision

As the Uniting Church in Yarrawonga, over the next few years we hope to

  • Develop high quality creative worship involving music and visuals
  • Grow opportunities to use our gifts of hospitality
  • Explore ways to engage with the visitors and new arrivals to the area.

Leadership at St Andrew's

Cynthia Page

Resource Minister

We are a Small Church Network in Northeast Victoria, with eight congregations. We are committed to being a network who work together, support and encourage, share our gifts and skills with each other, and accept help from each other.

Worship team

We have a worship team of lay members and retired ministers. We have an accredited trained Lay Presider who rotates services including Holy Communion. We participate in bi-monthly zoom services with other churches in the "Small Church Network" (SCN).

Sunday worship is central to our life as a people, and we are looking to continue to develop our “creative side” through increased use of technology and taking advantage of the gifts of our musicians. We alternate between music accompanied by the organ and music accompanied by our band.

Ministry to aged care homes is another priority for us, particularly as our members move there. We conduct monthly communion services at Wood's Point Aged Care and the Yarrawonga Health Aged Care complex.

Pastoral carers

Pastoral care is provided in several ways. A team of trained lay people offers care to those with pastoral needs. Funerals are shared between retired ministers and Lay People trained and experienced in conducting funerals.

More informally, the congregation has a program of Contact Carers which links anyone who wants this with another member of the congregation. They make regular contact by phone to provide each other with general support.
